Participate in Life Cycle Assessment of the Alberta Field Peato Determine Environmental Footprint & Enter an Amazing Draw
Alberta Pule Growers (APG), with assistance from Alberta Agriculture and Forestry, will investigate an environmental footprint for Alberta field pea production through the Alberta Field Pea Life Cycle Analysis.
Life Cycle Analysis or Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is a formalized methodology that provides a quantitative approach to understanding the distribution of resource demands and environmental impacts along the food product supply chains and can identify opportunities for improvement.
Knowing what drives environmental impacts can help producers make production and management decisions that provide the greatest financial and environmental benefits. APG also recognizes that an emission intensity benchmark will benefit pulse growers moving forward. As such, APG encourages producers to participate in a survey of production practices for field pea.
We expect it to help the industry move forward and identify ways to increase resource efficiency, reduce costs and decrease the industry's environmental footprint and emission intensity.
Participate in the Alberta Field Pea LCA and enter a draw to win pea crop inputs, a pass to FarmTech 2016 and many other prizes.
