Granary weevil
Sitophilus granarius(L.)
If you have grain stored on farm, you probably know about these pests. Kevin Floate sent us a link this month to Stored product beetles found in Canada. It contains a wealth of information from the Canadian Grains Commission. I highly recommend this information source. They've done a great job with it.
I dug down to the granary weevil and found everything you might want to know about the granary weevil. You will know if you have an infestation because your grain moisture levels will go up and the surface of the grain will feel warm. You may also see slightly ovoid holes in the grain where the adults emerged.
