Aug. 13 you can learn to Target Your Connection and, then, Aug. 15 you can come try them out at Open Farm Day!
During this pandemic, a lot of people took up new things while they are stuck at home. Some explored baking, knitting or renovating, but how about meeting local food producers?
Farming Smarter offers you the opportunity for an agriculture Learning Adventure that also helps local producers learn from you.
Open Farm Day is the first free public event at Farming Smarter since the COVID-19 crisis started. Farming Smarter made the decision to hold the event after consulting with and reading AHS recommendations for outdoor events.
"This event is great for people not involved in agriculture," said Jamie Puchinger, assistant manager at Farming Smarter, "They can come to this event and see first-hand how sophisticated and technologically advanced the industry is."
Puchinger also says it's great for people to see how food is produced and to talk to experts doing it.
She adds that they want farmers to participate so they have a broad diversity of topics for people to learn about.

"Farmers can take a shift in our Ask a Farmer booth," Puchinger says. And to get more comfortable before the event, anyone can take the Target your Connection workshop August 13 that will help develop skills to connect better with customers online and in person.
Target your Connection is a step above beginner communication tools and strategy. Learn the difference between branding, marketing and sales. Develop your story and online personality. Use the tools you learn to identify and understand your customers so you know how to talk with them online and in-person.
This event is also free to attend and will include lunch but is limited to 50 registrants who RSVP for the event. To learn more about these events and RSVP for them, visit the Target your Connection and Open Farm Day pages.
