Tom Jensen, PhD Agronomy, PAg, CCA, asks what do you expect to have for plant available nutrients in your soil after the dry crop year of 2019? You may notice that the main nutrient highest in availability is nitrogen, but you may not see much difference in phosphorus, potassium and sulfur availability. Why not? Tom will explain and advise how to adjust your fertilizer applications for the 2020 crop year.
Ken Coles talks about the use of precision planters for all crops. He walks participants through the precision planted vs air drill planted canola plots at Farming Smarter's Cypress County site. The site experienced a severe drought in 2019.
Trevor Deering talks about the practice of rolling barley crops after planting to submerge rocks. The objective is find if rolling the crop affects yields.
